Do you know an exemplary individual in the Derry~Londonderry area who is doing their bit to make it a better place? Someone who is trying to influence so that things are done differently and better than before? A person who has identified a civic need and is proactive about filling that gap?

TOYP (Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the world) is a global JCI programme, celebrating the achievements of inspiring individuals who excel in their chosen fields. JCI Derry run their own local TOYP programme with the winners going on to represent their area at National Conference level and further at World Congress.

Nominations for the 2018 TOYP competition are now closed – but keep in mind those you think should be recognised next year. Candidates should be aged 18-40 and have excelled in one of the following categories:

  • Business, economic, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment
  • Political, legal, and/or governmental affairs
  • Academic leadership and/or accomplishment
  • Cultural achievement
  • Moral and/or environmental leadership
  • Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights
  • Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership
  • Scientific and/or technological development
  • Personal improvement and/or accomplishment
  • Medical innovation
